City of Aspen Microgrid Planning
The CLP Engineering team is proud to announce a new microgrid planning project with the City of Aspen. Our goal is to support the City in achieving a greater level of electric utility resilience through onsite energy resources and grid enhancements. With CLPE’s microgrid expertise, we plan to identify the best way to minimize impacts during long-term grid outages in the most cost-effective way.
We plan to work closely with the City of Aspen to define microgrid objectives, footprint, and functional requirements. At the end of this study, we plan to deliver a feasible and cost effective microgrid concept plan that can be implemented to create a more resilient electrical distribution system for Aspen. This will help to sustain critical city operations during extended loss of utility supply, which directly affects visitors, local businesses, and workers, impacting public safety. Our extensive work on similar microgrids in the past has proven our capabilities and strengths within projects such as this. With this new microgrid project, we are inspired to make a positive lasting impact on the City of Aspen’s electrical utility system.
